TWO BROOKS PRESERVE

Two Brooks Preserve is a pristine 135-acre area that has been identified as one of the most environmentally healthy and important areas in the region and in the Commonwealth.

Two Brooks consists of extensive aquatic systems and wetlands that help protect and maintain healthy drinking water. The preserve has diverse habitats including hard and softwood forest, open meadows, the Whetstone Vineyard Brook and the Sawmill Brook, cranberry bogs, and a reservoir. Species of special conservation concern are among the many plant and animal species that thrive here.

In response to the Open Space and Recreation Plan’s 2016 town-wide survey, Plympton residents rated ‘protecting Plympton’s water’ and ‘preserving Plympton’s rural character’ as their top priorities. Two Brooks Preserve assists with both of these priorities. Research conducted by the Open Space Committee and information provided by various experts indicate that the property’s water and other ecological assets will provide long term benefits to local residents.

Two Brooks Preserve is under the care and management of the Plympton Conservation Commission and the Plympton Open Space Committee. To contact us, please call the Town House at (781) 317-9317 or come to one of our meetings.
