Council on Aging (COA) Update

Council on Aging (COA) Update:

We've had several inquiries about the status of the COA.  To keep everyone up to date, the same programs that many of our seniors participate in are all still running.  However, due to COVID-19, some of the group activities, including Zumba and Yoga, are postponed indefinitely.  For more information about any of the programs below, including how to sign up, please contact the COA Director, Joy Marble, at: (617) 799-8602.

Meals on Wheels: Meals are continuing to be delivered daily to participants of this program.

Food Pantry: The COA Food Pantry at the Town House is restocked weekly, or as often as donations come in.  Plympton seniors are invited to visit the Food Pantry at the Town House on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.  After 2 p.m., any perishables or baked goods remaining will be delivered to The Woodlands.

Transportation: The COA continues to provide transportation to doctor's appointments and other essential locations for some of our seniors.  The COA has also received a new handicap accessible van through a State grant program, which will be coming online soon and will allow for more transportation options.

COA Supplies: There are a variety of supplies available for Plympton seniors currently being stored at the Town House, including walkers, canes, commodes, etc.

For more information on any of the above-referenced resources, please contact Joy Marble at (617) 799-8602.
