Suggested Amendment to Municipal Bylaw Article XXI, Rules and Regulations Relative to the Control of Dogs in the Town of Plympton

Dear Residents of Plympton,

The following article will be placed on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant for the May 17, 2017 meeting:

To see if the town will vote to amend Municipal By-Laws, Article XXI, Rules and Regulations relative to the control of Dogs in the Town of Plympton so that the local Town of Plympton Bylaws coincide with the following State Regulations: MGL Chapter 140 Sections 137, 141,  145, 145B, and 157

The article will bring the Town of Plympton Municipal Bylaw Article XXI, Rules and Regulations relative to the control of Dogs in the Town of Plympton in compliance with MA General Laws that have changed since the year 2013. The majority of the changes are related to fees/penalties, procedures relating to hearings, and definitions. The changes have been suggested and made by the Town Clerk and reviewed and approved by the Animal Control Officer who is recommending the article.

To save on the costs of printing and mailing of the warrant, the edited version will be printed and posted on Monday, April 24, 2017 in the following locations: Town House, Dennett Elementary, Post Office, Library, Village Cafe. The full suggested amendment will not be included in the mailed warrant.
