Selectmen Biographies

Christine Joy

My husband, Butch and I moved to Plympton in 1992.  We have two children who attended the Dennett and Silver Lake Jr and High School.  Our children are now grown and have returned to the nest while paying off student loans.  I truly enjoying having our children home as I know it is short-lived (?).

We enjoy racing and cruising our sailboat in Buzzards Bay and are fortunate that our children still enjoy racing with us.  Is it because the races are sponsored by rum companies and the alcohol flows freely?  Whatever the reason, I will take it.

I also enjoy gardening, but have found that I enjoy sailing more and have converted most of my flower beds to low maintenance plants.

Occasionally, you may see my husband and me riding our motorcycles around town.  We would like to take a road trip together, but my fear of riding on the highway has made that challenging.  Please let me know if you are aware of a non-highway route to New Hampshire.

I am proud to serve as one of your Selectmen.  I strive to make thoughtful decisions that will enhance our lives and maintain the Town’s character, without undue impact to our tax burden.
