Cultural Services

Community Preservation Committee
The members of the CPC develop a Community Preservation Plan and work closely with town committees, Department Heads and concerned citizens. The Committee does not initiate projects; rather it collects and reviews proposals submitted by individuals or groups. The CPC then makes recommendations to town meeting regarding the use of funds.

Plympton Cultural Council
The Plympton Cultural Council administers money received each year from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). These grants can be used to support a variety of artistic and cultural projects to benefit citizens in the Plympton area.

Plympton Historical Commission
The Historical Commission is charged with protecting Plympton's cultural, archaeological, and architectural heritage through documentation, public education, consultation with local government, and preservation bylaws.

Plympton Historic District Commission
The Historic District Commission reviews all exterior changes to the built environment within the Harrub's Corner Historic District for compliance with its written guidelines.

Harry Jason, Jr., Park and Development Committee
The committee plans and develops the use of the Harry Jason, Jr., Park so that it can support multiple uses-recreation, open space, and conservation--by all the townspeople.

Library Trustees
Trustee meetings are posted at the town hall and are open to the public.

Old Home Day Committee
The Old Home Day Committee is planning and co-ordinating a one day fun-filled town event where the members of the community can get together and get to know each other and celebrate life and living in Plympton.
