Q. How do I obtain a certified copy of a birth, marriage or death certificate?
A. Requests may be made either in person or by mail however all restricted
certificates can only be issued to the subject of record, parents listed
on record, or a legal representative.
There is a $10.00 charge for all certified copies, make checks payable
to the Town of Plympton.
Q. How do I file for a marriage license?
A. Both parties must apply in person to file a marriage intention with
the Town Clerk. There is a mandatory three-day waiting period. The Town
Clerk cannot issue your marriage license until each party has submitted
a medical certificate.
Q. When can I register to vote?
A. Voter Registration is held from 9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m. twenty (20)
days before all Elections and Town Meetings. Voter Registration can be
done by coming into the Town Clerks Office and registering in person
or by obtain a mail-in form, or at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Q. How do I apply for an Absentee Ballot?
A. There are three qualifications for an absentee ballot: 1. absence from
town during voting hours,
2. physical disability or
3. religious belief
You may fill out and absentee ballot application for yourself or for
a family member in the Town Clerks Office, if it is for yourself
you may vote right in the office, if it is for a family member, the Town
Clerk will mail the ballot to the registered voter. All applications must
be received by noon of the day prior to the election.
Q. Where do I get a copy of the Zoning By-Laws?
A. Copies of the Zoning By-Laws, Zoning Maps and SubDivision Rules and
Regulations are all kept in the Town Clerks Office.
Q. How do I apply for a Special Permit or Variance and Appeal?
A. Application forms for Special Permit, Variance and Appeal are filed in
the Town Clerks Office. They must be filled out in duplicate along
with an abutters list, maps and any other pertinent information,
plus a check for $85.00. Once the Town Clerk receives the application
it is sent to the Zoning Board of Appeals for their action. Please make checks patable to "Town of Plympton".
Q. When do I need to license my dog?
A. All dogs must be licensed between July 1st and September 1st of each
year. To obtain a license you need to show a copy of the dogs current
rabies certificate. Dogs not licensed by September 1st will be charges
a $25.00 late fine.
Q. How do I obtain a transfer sticker?
A. The Board of Health is responsible for the transfer stickers. However,
application forms are available in the Town Clerks office. You need
to know the vehicle year, make, model and registration number when applying. For more information please see the
