The Plympton Open Space Committee is sponsoring a land conservation workshop on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 P.M. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall. Representatives of The Wildlands Trust, The Nature Conservancy, and the Trust for Public Land will discuss the array of estate planning and land conservation tools that can lessen the tax burden of landowners and provide the means to preserve farm, forest, and other open land for future generations. The meeting is free and open to the public, and will include light refreshments. Are you ready to set sail this summer? Join the summer reading crew for the "Heart of the Sea Summer Reading Adventure" at the Plympton library. Recruitment begins Tues. June 23 at 10:00 am. Local author and Mayflower II captain, Peter Arenstam, will present a talk about his children's books at 2:00 pm. Plympton adults are asked to join the SLRHS students and read "In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex" by Nathaniel Philbrick. The Town Clerk’s office is normally closed on Wednesday; however it will be open on the 16th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm for voter registration.
